The word ‘strange’ in
Greek means, "another kind, different." (Strong’s #2087)
The sin of the fallen angels,
like that of the people of Sodom and Gomorrah, was unnatural sexual acts
that violated the moral limits which God had set for mankind. The people of
Sodom and Gomorrah broke that limit by their practice of homosexuality
(Leviticus 18:22 & Romans 1:21-27). The angels broke that moral limit
that set God when they, left their first estate in heaven and came to earth
to seduce human women whose flesh was different from theirs (1
Corinthians 15:39-40). God rejected the offspring of that unlawful union
by destroying that race of giants in Noah’s flood. My question to you is:
why is God revisiting the sin of Genesis six in the book of Jude? Because if
you don’t know how it started in the beginning, then you will never know how
it will end.
The scriptural similarities
between the two floods
As we began this study into
the Biblical history of Noah’s flood, we read about a physical saturation of
water that covered the earth for 150 days as opposed to Satan’s flood of the
end time that will be a spiritual saturation of lies that will cover the
earth for five months. This five month period is the mathematical equivalent
to Noah’s flood of 150 days (30 days x 5 months = 150 days). Whenever
prophecy is given in days it pertains to Jesus Christ and Christians, the
children of light; whenever prophecy is given in months it pertains to Satan
and the children of darkness.
Genesis 7:9-10-There went in
two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had
commanded Noah. And it came to pass
after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.
After Noah built the ark, the
door of this great structure stood open for seven days as a sign of God’s
mercy and grace. If anyone who was left out would have repented, anytime
during the seven days, they would have been welcomed into the ark and saved.
Now the days of grace were over and God shut the door and brought in the
flood to destroy all that was not protected in the ark (Genesis 7:16).
The seven days of grace that God extended to the people in Noah’s generation
before the flood was, a type used to symbolize the last seven years of grace
that He has extended to our generation before the flood of the end time come
(Daniel 9:26 and Revelation 12:15). This truth will be brought forth
in depth when we study the prophecies of Daniel; for now, let’s continue our
study in Genesis to find out how long the waters of the flood covered the
Genesis 7:11-In the six
hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day
of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep
broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. And the rain was
upon the earth forty days and forty night.
second month, the seventeenth day of the month. The windows of heaven
were opened, and it rained for forty days and forty night. Then God
remembered Noah and the windows of heaven was stopped, and the rain from
heaven upon the earth was restrained. It took five months from the start of
the rain before the flood slowly reside off the face of the earth, in the
seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the
Genesis 8:2-4-The fountains
also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from
heaven was restrained; And the waters returned from off the earth
continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the
waters were abated. And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the
seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.
