The Duality of the Scripture

Isaiah 28:16-Therefore thus saith the LORD GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.

Quoted almost verbatim in 1 Peter 2:6.

1 Corinthians 3:10-12-According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble.

These six things, gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble, are perishable, and it represents the idol worship of Satan’s religion (Revelation 9:20 & Deuteronomy 29:16-20). This should be a stern warning to all Christians because the perishable things that you teach in your house of worship is considered by God as sin that is laid upon the foundation of Christ.

1 Corinthians 3:13-14-But there is going to come a time of testing at judgment day to see what kind of work each builder has done. Everyone’s work will be put through the fire to see whether or not it keeps its value. If the work survives the fire, that builder will receive a reward. But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder themselves will be saved, but like someone escaping through a wall of flames.

This scriptural picture of Christians escaping through a wall of flames is not a picture of a victorious one. They will be saved. But their works will not survive the flames of Truth.

Jeremiah 51:26-And they shall not take of thee a stone for a corner, nor a stone for foundations; but thou shalt be desolate for ever, saith the LORD.

In this verse, God chastises Satan because he casts the false image of the foundation of Christ to deceive unsuspecting Christians. For this reason, many Believers who do not practice spiritual discernment will fall (Isaiah 8:11-15).

1 Peter 2:6-Wherefore also it is contained in the Scripture, "Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious and ‘he’ that believeth on Him shall not be confounded" (Isaiah 28:16).

The word ‘he’ in the verse above represents those Christians who believe in the salvation message. They also believe all the prophecies that God spoke from Genesis to Revelation. The word ‘them’ in the verse below represents those Christians who believe in the salvation message, but because of false teachings, they stumble at the word in unbelief concerning Jesus Christ end time prophecies.

1 Peter 2:7-8-Unto you therefore which believe He is precious: but unto ‘them’ which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a Rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

Disobedient in the Greek language means, "to disbelieve, unbelieving." (Strong’s #544)

All Christians believe in salvation, but when it come to the deeper truths of Christ prophecies, many will stumble at the word in unbelief.
