Was Moses' Father-In-Law A Kenite?
Page 2

Keturah in Hebrews means incense, she was one of Abraham’s concubine (1 Chronicles 1:32). After Sarah’s death, Keturah was elevated to wife and bare Abraham six sons Midian was her fourth.

The word ‘Mid’-i-an’ comes from the Hebrew word ‘Midyan.’ It means, "a son of Abraham; also his country and his descendants: the Midianites." (Strong’s #4080)

According to scripture, Midian and his descendants, the Midianites, were the children of the seed of Abraham by his wife Keturah. Here the scripture is so clear on this subject concerning the true bloodline of this Midian priest that even a child can understand it. However, for the sake of the higher critics, we are not going to stop here, but continue on in the book of Numbers, Exodus, and Judges, to attain a second, third, and fourth, witness to this truth.

Numbers 10:29-And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses father in law, we are Journeying unto the place of which the LORD said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the LORD hath spoken good concerning Israel.

Now stay with me, did the scripture above say Raguel the Kenite Moses father-in-law as so many Christians are taught to believe? No, it said Raguel the Midianite is Moses’ father-in-law. Thus his Midianite lineage to his ancestral father, Midian makes him a direct descendant of Abraham. (Genesis 25:1-2 & 1 Chronicles 1:32).

Exodus 3:1 Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.

The Hebrew name for ‘Jethro’ is, ‘Yithrow.’ It means, "His Execellence." (Strong’s #3503)
